Exercise Stations - March 2010

Bayswater City Council have now installed the Personal Exercise Stations at Riverside Gardens and Clarkson Reserve. They are proving very popular and we commend the council for making free (equipment) exercise readily available to the residents.

Foreshore Beautification.

According to the Budget Bulletin 2009/2010 the Council has allocated $2 million in the 2009-2010 budget for this project. The bulletin states

"For 2009/2010, the City of Bayswater will invest $2 million to enhance the Swan River foreshore to make it an even more attractive setting for out residents to enjoy"

What they have failed to mention is which areas of the foreshore they plan to spend the money on.

Current Status of Dog Exercise Area.

It was decided and passed by vote that there will be no study done, that signage will be improved with information on penalties and responsibilities of and for dog owners and regulations, responsibilities and penalties  will be advertised. There was also an extension of the off lead area of Bardon Park. However no actual decision on the future of the park was reached.

Cafe Development at Riverside Gardens.

March 2010.

Bayswater City Council have appointed a Cafe sub committee to further investigate all aspects of the cafe development. The link (CTRL+CLICK) below will take you  to the appropriate council agenda. The PDF file is around 22Mb so those of you with a slow connection speed will find it takes a very long time to download the document. Once it is downloaded, the Cafe Sub Committee report starts on page 108 (PDF page number). It is well worth reading as there are some interesting points. If you have any comments and queries re this development and its potential impact on Riverside Gardens, FORGWA strongly recommends you email or write to your councillor
